March Photo a Day Challenge (commitment)

It's the Photo a Day Challenge introduced by Chantelle of Fat Mum Slim. 

 

So, I'm going to try it. I've had so many of my friends doing this and they finally talked me into joining them. I'm going to take part in the Photo-a-Day challenge. Christmas 2011.

It went by so fast.

It seemed like the kids are

growing up fast too.

This year we chose quality gifts,

instead of quantity.

I hope to get more pictures up soon!

Your Weekend

What are your plans for this weekend?

Early Saturday morning we clean the house up together

as a family. It works for us because as a team, we all

made the mess. So, makes sense to clean together.

Photo edit fun

I've been doing a little photo editing with some of our family trip photos. I have to say that it is very therapeutic. I can sit and just dabble away with the contrast, saturation, and other editing button slides. I use the editing program on my Apple computer.

Here's a photo I played around with:

 

I made some fried wontons and the platter I used was really for chips and dip. It's one of my favorite serving pieces and I love the turquoise color. But on this edit, I lightened it up that it actually turned blue! Sidenote: the wontons were delicious by the way :) One of those snack cravings and I just had to make fried wontons for no reason other than that.

You can slightly see the turquoise color tinge in this shot, but trust me, it's there (in real life). Which one looks better? The original or the edited version.

Here's another shot I took from our family trip to Alabama. 

 

We took the time to visit a Train museum since my youngest is totally in love with trains. He was a little freaked out when there actually was a real working train there. The train blew it's horn and scared the bigeesy's out of him! It was so much fun to ride on it though.

Maybe not much change there, but I boosted up the color a little and played around with the contrast and saturation. That yellow sure came out brighter. Maybe a little too bright? That's why it's so much fun to photo edit. You can go back and forth, and change things up if you don't like it.

Btw, I use Adobe Photoshop too, but mostly for my products. I should really use it more for family photos. Maybe that will have to be another editing session on another day.
